Bequia is your new Caribbean Dream Destination! From white sands, to its picture perfect water, Bequia has everything to offer to the Caribbean loving wanderer.

Getting Here!

After a short flight to St Vincent and the Grenadines (from Trinidad and Tobago), a night over at Adams Apartment (Read our review here) and a 45 minute ferry ride, we arrived in Bequia. Fresh air softly caressed our faces, as the warmth of the sun cooled our frozen bodies off. The first sight of Bequia’s Port Elizabeth was breathtaking.

Our host for the week was Donnak, the owner of Ramblers Rest guesthouse, a quaint guest house just about 6 minutes (walking) from Port Elizabeth. If you're a low budget traveler it is a great place to stay.

Here's why;

  • For 66usd you can get yourself an ensuite bedroom with shared kitchen and living area (We were given a 2 bedroom apartment for the same price, as it was low season )

  • Bequia is a laidback island, so you might be spending most of your time chilling out on the beaches than in your room, so logically it makes no sense paying a lot of money for something you may not even spend an entire day in.

  • The owner is wonderful, he ensures that you have everything you need to make you feel at home, on that note;

  • The guest house feels like home

  • Donnka knows a lot about the island and you receive an introductory tour of the Port on arrival

  • Magnificent VIEW. Ramblers is located on a mini hill top over Port Elizabeth making it a great place for sunset and sunrise dates with your friends or loved ones.

  • You'll meet other travelers and establish friendships if you’re so inclined. The guest house is small so it is most intimate.

  • Less money on accommodation means more money on fun.

Ten things to do while in Bequia
